Thought for Today
Hard work has made it easy. That is my secret. That is why I win.
It's Magnificent Monday at Starting Gate Park.
Today marks the beginning of the 6th week on the game for those who got started that first day back in March.
It the game working? most definitely! Remember the game started out of a comment that the "Weekend was too short!' – or hidden in that "the week was too long!. Last Friday, was ICBIF. (by the way, it was the first day of no daily email.) A few of us looked at that and agreed, independently that yes it really was ICBIF. A huge shift from the week is too long. You can email me when you get what ICBIF is.
Lots has been accomplished since the beginning. More people have joined the game, it has been expanding. Lots has been accomplished at our games at CCT & EDL. New clients, new projects, some breakdowns or real opportunities to shine. Anybody can do the easy stuff, it is when things don't got as planned that the real opportunity shows up. EDL has added at least two new hosting accounts and has proposals out (or going out for more). We finally have offensive players in our pipeline, not enough, but the flow is starting. and the list goes on.
This weekend I was driving too and from Washington DC and had the chance to replay some of the game tapes. Much like Michael Jordan, looking for what was missing from the game. Micheal Jordan noticed that teamwork was missing from his game with the Bulls, and the rest is history. Something that if put in to the game it would elevate it to another level. I was looking at my game.
A couple of things I saw:
* urgency was missing, urgency like it really mattered right now, like it was 9/11. Not frantic, but urgent.
* Something else that was missing from my game was structure. Like really using my calender to tell me what i should be doing, where i should be, …. not like i remember some and some is on my calendar, but my calendar is really there as the tool that allows me to take full advantage of the day, play the game full out, don't sleep through an inning or two wondering where the time went.
On magnificent Monday, when you are in the car or have a few minutes this is an invitation to look at your game tapes. Is there something missing that would elevate your game.
Love to hear how the game has gone for you. What have you accomplished? If you take the invitation to look at your tapes, what's missing that you can put into your game.
Naming rights are open for tomorrow, Tuesday. Any bidders?
